06/30/2010 - Why is it that while winter seems to drag on forever, summer is here but for a few brief moments?  I can’t believe that we are already wrapping up June, about to celebrate the 4th of July.  I’m convinced that somehow time speeds up in the summer and our weeks go by much quicker.  Which is funny since with all this daylight our days should seem a lot longer!

05/12/2010 - Minnesota has many great assets.  Over 10,000 in fact!  While our state is great for many reasons, perhaps most well known is our abundance of lakes.  Whether you are in the heart of the city or up in the Northwoods, there is sure to be a lake close by.  And with a lake comes lots of opportunity for outdoor recreation.

05/05/2010 - As I was perusing the news online, I came across a discussion topic regarding a new upcoming holiday on May 22nd.  It’s called “Take your kids to the park…and leave them there Day”.  And it is proving to be quite controversial on the message boards.

04/07/2010 - There aren’t many shows these days that I care to carve time out of my day to watch.  But there is one new show, reality nonetheless, that I am completely hooked on.  Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution has been a real eye opening experience for my family and I.

03/24/2010 - What an amazing spring we are having!  The songbirds are chirping, the dingy snow is melted, and there is even life starting to sprout in my garden.  My driveway has been transformed into a colorful chalk masterpiece, and there are all sorts of balls lying around my yard.  Which reminds me, my kids need to pick those up.  The grill is getting much more playing time than the oven these days.  I even stopped to pick up some local firewood so that we could have our first bonfire of the year, complete with gooey marshmallows.
