Supporting Conservation Minnesota:
When I was a little girl, I used to let entire afternoons pass me by as I lay on my back watching the clouds overhead. As soon as it would reach 75 degrees out, my brother and I would grab our towels, hop on our bikes and head out to go swimming. There was always dirt under my fingernails from hiding in the bushes during our nightly game of Capture the Flag. And I couldn’t wait to go camping with my family for vacation.
These days, when I watch the clouds I have my two little ones next to me calling out what they think they look like. Swimming is still one of my favorite ways to cool off, but I try and wait until it tops 80 degrees before dipping a toe into the water. Between the garden and sandbox, dirt under the nails is still a battle. But we all agree that it is a sign of a good time. And in a few weeks we will embark on our first camping trip of the year where we will geocache to our heart’s content.
These are the exact reasons I came to work for Conservation Minnesota. I want my children and grandchildren to have a stockpile of outdoor memories just like I have.
Conservation Minnesota is working to protect the health of our families and to make sure Minnesota’s Great Outdoors can be enjoyed safely for generations. As a private, not-for-profit organization, we are funded solely by individuals, businesses and foundations. We do not receive government funding.
